Kidde HP CO2 Fire Suppression System Spares

Kidde HP (high pressure) CO2 Fire Suppression System uses high pressure Carbon Dioxide and is designed for applications where flammable materials and vapours present a potential fire hazard.

Using large bore cylinder valves high mass flow rates are reached. The control system and valves enable rapid reaction, seconds after fire detection.

Electric and/or pneumatic detection modules enable Kidde HP CO2 System to discover a fire from the outset. CO2 release cuts oxygen to the fire and provides a cooling action, resulting in suppression. Fast expansion of the gaseous agent allows wide areas to be covered, even in had to access places. CO2 is not recommended for manned areas due to its toxicity at extinguishing concentrations.

Three types available, local application (next to piece of equipment or other) or hose line or total flooding -only suitable for unoccupied areas.

CO2 HP cylinder choices are between 25 lbs. to 100 lbs. Hose reel line systems, directional valve system options, lockout valves and lockout circuits are all available.

Standard System consists of a High flow “Klem” cylinder valve with a choice of automatic or manual operation. Pilot cylinder or direct acting solenoid operating system. There is also a option for continuous monitoring of cylinder weight. All cylinders work with Kidde control panels.

Applications: Flammable liquid storage areas, oven rooms, computer rooms, power plants, industrial plants, oil refineries, electronic processes and on ships.

CO2 is stored in liquid form, with a pressure backdrop. CO2 liquid flows through pipes or hoses and is discharged by nozzles, liquid vaporises, resulting in a penetrative three-dimensional action.

Commonly used in industry so is readily available and relatively cheap, colourless, odourless, dry, inert gas.
When the Carbon Dioxide vaporises due to low boiling point, no residue is left after the fire is put out. It is non-corrosive and will not contaminate foodstuffs. Thus no mess.
None conductive it can be used on electrical equipment.
